Apex Sports Chiltern CC League
Some 700 runners converged on Upton Court Park Slough when WSEH played hosts to the 4th in the Apex Sports Chiltern Cross Country League Series. In contrast to the muddy, rutted and hilly conditions in the last fixture at Culham, athletes welcomed the chance to compete over the undulating but fast grassland course that was remarkably firm underfoot despite the heavy rain over the preceding weeks. Ashley Bryant continued on his winter victory trail with another dominating performance in the Southern Indoor Multi Events Championships at Lea Valley, annexing the Under 17 South of England Title to add to the National Schools Title won a couple of weeks ago.
Winter Series Open Graded Indoor Meeting

Some 150 athletes from all points of the compass descended upon the Thames Valley Athletics Centre on Sunday for the second of the WSEH Winter Series of Indoor Meetings, hoping to clock good times for entry into the major championships in the weeks ahead. For one WSEH athlete, Val Parsons, the meeting propelled her into the World Record Books. She twice broke the Womens Vet 60 record for the 60metres.

Apex Sports Chiltern CC League
The third race in the Apex sports Chiltern Cross Country League saw WSEH athletes travelling to Culham, Oxford to race over new and unfamiliar territory. What greeted them was hilly terrain over a course previously used for Moto Cross, treacherous underfoot with muddy and heavily rutted sections. The conditions however did not seem to deter the WSEH athletes who produced some excellent team and individual results. Click link for full report and placings.

It was a mixed bag of results for WSEH in the second of the Apex Sports Chiltern League Div 1 match at Luton on Saturday, with some good individual and team results countered by a shortage of athletes in some of the races due to fixture clashes. Click link for full report and placings.

Apex Sports Chiltern CC League
WSEH made an encouraging start to the winter cross country campaign with some excellent results in the Apex Sports Chiltern Cross Country League Div 1 match at Watford on Saturday. Team victories were achieved in the Senior Mens Race and also in the Veterans Ladies plus minor placings in the Under 20 Mens, Under 11 Boys, Under 20/Under 17 Ladies, Under 15 Girls and Under 11 Girls races.
